Landscaper and Field Technician—Dams, Lakes and Ponds
About us

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Landscaper Field/Maintenance Technician to travel out to customers dams/ponds/lakes to install, service and maintain equipment. This will typically be dam aerators, fountains and pond equipment.
There will also be an opportunity to provide pond building and landscaping work to clients. So, talking to clients about projects and leading the design and build of these projects. Part of the role will also involve manual work removing aquatic weeds and algae and spraying when needed. While this is a physical job, the work is easy on the body. We also have a rural property (20 acres) in Whittlesea that needs a bit of attention, so there will be work to do here as well.
You’ll be required to coordinate with other staff and clients and be a role model for younger in-field staff members to deliver outstanding work to specification, and on time. The role would suit someone who can manage their own time on and off the tools to effectively lead work practices over a range of duties.
About you
You love being outdoors
You have a background in a related field, e.g., landscaping, a trade, environmental science
You’re highly organised and have good time management skills
You’re self-motivated
You’re interested in field/technician work such as installing aeration kits in dams
You’re interested in running landscaping projects for clients, i.e. talking to clients, designing projects and building them—running them through to completion
You’re a good swimmer and are comfortable working in and around water
Responsibilities include:
Install, service and maintain equipment, such as pumps, aerators, filters, fountains, liner, solar equipment
Design and build ponds
Dam and pond lining
Operate boats, motors, spray pumps etc
Drive utes and trailers to site
Moderate physical labour
Manually remove and/or spray aquatic weeds and algae
Apply probiotic water treatments by boat, kayak etc
Clean ponds
Work outdoors in all seasons and weather
Help out occasionally in the warehouse or farm maintenance when not doing maintenance/installation work e.g pick and pack orders, clean, service company tools and equipment, grounds landscaping & maintenance etc
Confidently communicate with clients onsite
Manage a diary that records your daily activities
Note: Some travel to country or interstate locations may be required. We currently operate from Somerton but will be relocating to Whittlesea in coming months
