CATEGORY DESCRIPTION AND ELIGIBILITY FEES FOR 2016/17 REGIONAL

Registered Landscape Builder - Commercial / Subcontractor

Landscape business who offers structural landscaping to the commercial and industrial sectors, or a business who subcontracts (100%) to a developer, consortium or other commercial outfit.

Registered Landscape Builders - Commercial must hold a CB-U or CB-L registration status as issued by the Building Practitioners Board or 
provide a letter of confirmation from a contracting firm corroborating their subcontractor status.

Registered Landscape Builder - Domestic

Landscape business who offers structural landscaping to the private, domestic or residential sectors.

Registered Landscape Builders - Domestic must hold a DB-U or DB-L registration status as issued by the Building Practitioners Board.

Landscaping and Horticultural service providers who offer non-structural services such as soft landscaping and garden maintenance, i.e. work that does not require building permits or for the member to hold RBP status.

Provisional Membership is available to new businesses or those needing additional time to qualify for eligibility.

r - membership is available for companies and sole traders who have been operating for less than 2 years. After 2 years, full membership can be applied for. An application fee of $290 is payable for assessment at that time, and fees to upgrade to full membership can be paid pro-rata.

Provisional Registered Landscape Builder - Domestic - membership is available for companies and sole traders who have been operating for less than 2 years. Provisional status is offered in this category for a MAXIMUM of 12 months. During this time, members are expected to apply to become a Registered Building Practitioner (RBP).

Within 1 year, full membership can be applied for subject to obtaining RBP status. An application fee of $290 is payable for assessment at that time, and fees to upgrade to full membership can be paid pro-rata.

During this provisional period, only works to the value of $5,000 are permitted to be undertaken in line with Victorian Building Authority laws.

Arborist - Specialists in the cultivation, care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, vines and other woody plants.

Pool Builder - Businesses that are licensed for the purpose of swimming pool construction. Must hold relevant registrations.

Builder - Businesses that are licensed for the purpose of home building, renovation, commercial or civil building works.

Allied trades - Businesses that offer trade services to support and compliment Landscapers.
