As a stakeholder and significant contributor to MIFGS, we have received the following advice from the MIFGS Board and Management group, IMG, regarding the event.
Please see below advice on behalf of Event Director Marcus Gale and Chairman Michael Warner regarding the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
As you know, we made the decision earlier this year to postpone the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.
Since then, we have been working through an extensive consultation process to explore options and dates for a show in October 2021. Following a thorough review of feedback from our venue, designers, exhibitors, partners and the industry broadly, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show Board has determined that the most prudent course of action for the event and all of our stakeholders is to return in March 2022, bigger & better than ever before. At that point, it will have been three years since our industry has had an opportunity to gather, market itself and celebrate all things flower and gardens, so we expect the return of this event to be monumental.
It cannot be under-estimated how important the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is to the horticultural businesses around the country - it is a platform for an entire industry and for the public to learn, be entertained and inspired. With that in mind, we are now focusing all our efforts on delivering an incredible event in March 2022.
The roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine program, certainty around large scale events and travel returning throughout the latter half of this year, will provide the best possible platform to relaunch the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show for 2022.
We are looking forward to working with you on the event and thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
